This Users Group meeting is Thursday, May 1 at 2pm in ISB 145.
Meetings are open to anyone interested in Drupal and not limited to the UMass community. Bring problems, questions and ideas. Offers to make presentations are welcome.
Meet at the UMass Integrated Sciences Building (ISB) (See map here.
Room 145 is a meeting room near the elevators on the first floor.
Regular meetings for the UMass Amherst Drupal Users Group are the first Thursday of the month and usually run 90 minutes.

LDAP Integration
I am building a site for the UMass Librarians that requires LDAP integration for SSO. I'd love to hear from someone else who's done that?

Hi Bram,
I've setup both LDAP and Shibboleth (the University's SSO) for Drupal sites.
Will the site be using the University's authenticated LDAP or is this a directory that is managed by the library? If it's the former, I'd suggest Shobboleth as an alternative to LDAP. Shibboleth is arguably more secure and provides true SSO (not just centrally managed auth).
RE: LDAP vs Shibboleth
The purpose is that the university librarians can find themselves logged on to this site because they are logged on to the other UMass/Amherst sites, so I guess Shibboleth is the way to go. Thanks, Gary!
The site will be hosted on University servers ... does anybody from the IT department that manages hosting ever attend the users group?

If you mean the central IT / OIT web hosting (www.umass.edu) then that's me and I try to attend, schedule permitting.
The library also has its own IT department and their own web servers. I'm not sure on their participation at the meetings.
If it's an OIT hosted site, it will be provisioned with Shibboleth authentication already configured. Our hosting info can be found at:

Please encourage the Library folk to attend the Users Group. We would love to have them, and we do get attendance from other departments which do their own IT and hosting. Our user group usually covers general Drupal issues, but do occasionally discuss UMass policy, procedure, and technical options.

I'm making a site for the Librarians of UMass, and would love to get a copy of an existing 7.x theme for another department site to start with, if anyone is willing to share. Please consider if you maintain a 7.x site for a UMass department?
