Community meetup Skopje

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

An idea has floated to have a Drupal community meet-up in Skopje.

Are there any people from Macedonia in this group?

First meeting went well

There was a nice first meeting today (http://b10g.spodeli.org/2014/09/drupal-10914-19.html in Macedonian) and we agreed to try to have regular meetings every Wednesday from 19h at KIKA.

Our hacklab experience is that regular meetings are the best way to jump-start a community.

The plan is to have short presentations (about 30 min) and then just let the conversation flow from the topic, but even if there isn't a specific topic the meeting will not be canceled.

So, for next Wednesday (17.9), if someone can present this, a possible topic can be setting up multi language site with Drupal.

What are your thoughts?

Great to know that

I am not from Skopje but I will try to participate on some of the meet-ups.
Maybe even on the next one at Wednesday.

Why did you not publish information for the first meet-up here? ;-)

Multilingual site with Drupal is a good topic for discussion.

Sorry, CmanD. I simply

Sorry, CmanD. I simply forgot.

Probably the best way to follow events is the blog. But I guess now is up to everyone to start participating and sharing info here and elsewhere.

Next Wednesday?

How about an earlier hour next Wednesday? 17:30?

@CmanD - what's experience with Drupal? We plan to prepare a little something, but not totally advanced for multilingual Drupal...

Experience

Well... I have experience with building few bilingual sites. I can come with something too, but I am not sure what can be called advanced and what not. :-) I can point out some glitches that is possible to face with during the development of multilingual website.

I have the pale blue feeling,

I have the pale blue feeling, that you will have more to say about multilingual than we do, but we can prepare a short presentation to raise the topic and than discuss :-)

Somebody also mentioned Drush as a possible topic, what do you think?

Earlier Hour

@neuromantrice

I think it's too early. People are still at work or having lunch at that time. Even at 19h the space is sometimes empty because of this.

Wednesday, 17th of Sept, 19:00h, hacklab

Maybe we should have a loose schedule of topics, and just to keep focus on events one topic at a time.

Also, neuromantrice, on http://b10g.spodeli.org/ we usually publish the event 1 day before the date. By tonight there will be an announcement for SpodeliZnaenje tomorrow and monday there will be GNU/Linux first aid, so it will disappear from the front page. :)

Let's keep the topic multilingual for this We, than.

Next time :-(

Hi guys. I want to wish you to have a great time today on the meetup. Unfortunately because of some work obligation I will not be able to participate this time. :-(
But certainly I will on some of the next meetups.
My plan was to say this on today's meeting but I think that one of the major discussion on each of the following meetups should be how to make Drupal more popular on a local level and if we can do something about that.

Booo. It was cool last
