Hello Everyone!

Just a few DASA Updates:

  • The DASA Website
    • DASA Membership & Donations
    • Webmaster Needed
    • National Drupal User Group Meet-ups
  • Vote in the DASA Elections

The DASA Website at dasa.org.za

We have a Drupal Association South Africa website up now. It's very formal and dry but should cover all the information needed for an association site. If you followed the agendas/minutes of our meetings, you'll know already that it is built with Jekyll and hosted on GitHub, so can be forked and contributed to by anyone in the community.

Membership DASA Membership

DASA Membership is now available. We don't have badges for your website yet, but you can become a member already and be listed on the site. The membership options were compiled to make it affordable for anyone to join while allowing enterprise users to contribute more if they want. We also accept donations (listed on the same page). While not required, we encourage first joining the international Drupal Association before singing up for DASA membership.

  • Business Membership
    • Gold: R 20 000 p.a.
    • Silver: R 5 000 p.a.
    • Bronze: R 1 000 p.a.
  • Individual Membership
    • Individual: R 150 p.a.
  • Website Owner Membership
    • Diamond Site Owner: R 10 000 p.a.
    • Graphite Site Owner: R 2 000 p.a.

Webmaster Needed

The DASA affairs can keep one quite busy. While we manage the website ourselves right now, we can seriously do with a webmaster that will handle the site updates more officially. Skills needed would be Jekyll, gulp, GitHub, HTML/CSS design and the time to make the routine and directed updates.

National Drupal User Group Meet-ups

Our national meet-ups are listed on the front page of the DASA site. Make sure to sign up the the Meetup.com groups listed there for your area to stay informed.

Johannesburg and Cape Town meet-ups are doing very well.

Durban and the soon-to-be-listed Pretoria meet-ups will be new, so haven't had any actual events yet. Singing up to their meetup.com groups will make sure you receive an invitation just as soon as we get some time to arrange them (unless of course they bootstrap themselves through the group).

Vote in the DASA Elections

Immortalise your name and those of your Drupal friends and co-workers when you vote in the first DASA elections. We're going to do some great things for Drupal in South Africa with stated goals on our website to organise national DrupalCamps and eventually, also an international DrupalCon here in South Africa. Be a part of the story, show your clients you were there from the start, read the summaries of the candidates and vote here: https://groups.drupal.org/node/444703

Kind regards,
Riaan

I forgot to also mention that we now have a MailChimp-managed national e-mail mailing list. We have few subscribers so far, but feel free to sign up so long on the front page of the DASA website.
