Join us on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at Energy Circle, 81 Bridge Street, Yarmouth, Maine (Sparhawk Mill) for the next meeting of the Maine Drupal User Group.
Topic: Drupal Commerce, with Brian Morris
Brian will offer a preview presentation of his upcoming talk at NEWDCamp:
A year ago as a free-lance Drupal designer/developer, I was contracted to build a new site for a small business that sells world-wide. They were running a custom CMS whose looks and function belonged to a by-gone era. I recommended starting from scratch with Drupal Commerce. The deeper we dove into the Drupal Commerce API, the more ideas we realized we could make into realities. One year later, the owners of the company approached me about running the company for them as they transition to retirement... now I was the client. My own client. Now I was building the site for ME.
Goals for the session:
- explore Drupal Commerce API from a real-world working site
- discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Drupal Commerce
- make recommendations for learning about Drupal Commerce
The DrupalUG Beer Swap, by popular demand, continues (entirely optional!): Bring a six pack of your favorite beer, and we’ll split up and bring home whatever is left after the meeting. Energy Circle will pick up the tab for pizza.
Please let us know if you’re coming, so we can figure the pizza count. (Send a note to toddwoof or email me at todd (at) energycircle.com.)
Parking / finding the meeting: There is a gravel driveway on the left side of the mill building that leads down to a parking area behind the mill. Park there, and go up the exterior staircase on the back side of the building, right at the end of the parking lot. We’re on the third floor. You can also come in the front, if you want.
