Devsigner is happening again this next year! We had a successful kick-off meeting last Wednesday and some amazing people have stepped up to take on some central roles.
We are looking to fill a few more spots on our organizing team. Here's what we still need:
Website content creator - Create static and occasional news content for the website. You should be a good writer and able to convey our purpose and tone well.
Community communications lead - Head up social media and general marketing. This could be the same person as the website content creator, but at the least the two roles would work closely together. This will involve monitoring the various media platforms and responding to interactions, including passing important messages to other team leads like sponsors, sessions, and registration.
Budget/accounting - Responsible for overseeing spending and income, managing any PayPal accounts, communicating with our fiscal sponsors (likely the Drupal Association), invoicing sponsors and vendors, and communicating about money with other teams such as sponsors, logistics, website, design, party, and registration.
Party / fun social stuff lead - At this point in time, we don’t have plans for an official party. However, if budget and time allow, it would be fun to put something together and thus we might need someone to head that up. You'd be responsible for finding a venue, food, drink, etc.
Floater - For anyone who wants to contribute but doesn’t feel comfortable taking on a lead role. Let us know which areas appeal to you most (e.g. design, sponsors, budget, sessions, website, copy creation, registration, logistics) and we’ll plug you in.
In addition to creating a great event, it's my goal to make the organizing as smooth and non-stressful as possible. I don't want any burnout! So if you want to participate but know you don't have a lot of bandwidth, let me know and I'll find a spot that works for both you and the team. As my grandpa always said, "many hands make light work," especially if there's good communication.
