User group meeting
Officially making the call... There is enough consensus on the weather to push the meet-up to Dec 18th. See you all then!
Trying to get back to a regular every 2nd Thursday meet-up alternating between Reno and Tahoe/Truckee.
Tahoe Donner's Pizza on the Hill has WIFI and a nice lounge area, but I'm open to suggestions.

Is this call of action for....
Next Thur the 11th or pre-planning for January?
I'm going for Thursday Dec.
I'm going for Thursday Dec. 11th, with a meet up in Reno on Jan 15th.

I have a commitment on
I have a commitment on Thursday evenings for the next few months. I will be interested in attending after that is finisehd in the spring.
I'll be there - any planned topic?
I'm looking forward to attending my first Drupal meetup of the Tahoe/Reno group and meeting some of you. And, the meeting is here in Truckee, where I live! So, is there some "planned topic/presentation" for the meetup? Do you bring your computers? Thanks and see you on Thursday. - Linda Green

Topics?
That's a good question. Any ideas? Any volunteers?
Good topics may include:
Multi-site
Migration (6 to 7, 6 to 8, 7 to 8)
What to expect in D8
Views and entities
Someone's favorite "how to"
Display Suite
What I would really like to get is a presentation on Panopoly, perhaps from boinkster. The restaurant sites he showed last meeting were pretty darn cool--combination of panels and views.
I do not know who could or would speak on topics, these are just suggestions
I'd be glad to do a Panopoly
I'd be glad to do a Panopoly demo along with the Features workflow I've been using.
How about that weather?
Hey all,
Looks like Thursday night might be pretty nasty for folks coming up from Reno. In the interest of gathering as many as can come, and since we're still a small and nimble group... I'm floating the idea of postponing the meeting until next Thursday (Dec 18th).
If this is good for all, then I'll switch the date, if not, I'm still game for the 11th.
Please send feedback so I can make it official one way or the other.
Nathan
Switching might be could
Hi,
I can make it next week if we switch. It does sounds like the storm will be a big one and the heaviest snowfall is supposed to be on Thursday. I vote for switching to next week since it could be unsafe for driving, especially for those coming up from Reno. - Linda

Weather Contingency plans
I am all for pushing the meeting out a week if Thursday is going to be an ugly travel day. It would be sad if we did push the date out and the storm turns out to be a whole lot of nothing. But if the storm materializes as they are predicting, it could create some slow going and icy roads. Either way, I do get new rubber on the Subbie tomorrow so if the meeting is still a go for Thursday, I will make the attempt to get up there, storm or no storm.
Wether
Pushing to next "may" week is a good idea. Though the closer we get to Xmas, the crazier schedules will be.
May need to catch a ride with freedog, next week's weather could be more of the same.
I'm good either way, if I can carpool with someone that has a car with better traction than my Leaf.
No problem on any carpooling.
No problem on any carpooling. We can set a meet point in West Reno somewhere like Exit 4 at Cabelas parking lot.
Weather, Spam
I'd bump to next Thursday if the weather is as bad (good for the water) as predicted. I can likely make it, though my snow driving skills are a little rusty. Carpool would be great but I'm going to be aiming to be back home at 8:30 on Thursdays, might be a little early if the discussion and presentations are going well.
I worked up a little bit of stuff on spam prevention, I can present that or save it for a following meeting.
Officially changing the date!
There is enough worry about the weather to shift the Meet-up one week to Thursday, Dec 18th. I'm glad for the flexibility and enthusiasm!

On for tonight
Hi All,
No weather to speak of this week, so we are on for tonight. It will be quite informal. There is pizza and beer in Pizza on the Hill, and a lounge area all at the old Tahoe Donner Club House. Where we end up will depend on how many of us show up and our mood. I'll bring a large monitor for presenting. It's got HDMI, DVI and VGA inputs, and I'll bring HDMI and VGA cords.
I'll can do a Panopoly+Distributions demo and then see where we go from there.
See you tonight!

No notification?!?
I completely missed the "Game On" post above. Normally I get emailed notifications when new comments are added to this thread. For some reason did not see one. Guess I will be missing this meeting. Sorry!
Nathan, thanks for
Nathan, thanks for demonstrating Panopoly for us, along with the advice about updating modules and the live demonstration of a distribution upgrade.
Linda, it was a pleasure meeting you and hearing of your experiences at BADcamp.
The venue was great, that was a delicious pizza. Trivia night was a little distracting but not too bad.
I'm looking forward to the next meeting.
Great Meetup last night!
Yes, Nathan, thank you for setting up the meetup in Truckee last night! And, great job in demonstrating the Panopoly distribution. It was interesting to discuss Panopoly and Distributions in general. I definitely learned a few things last night!
Chris and Nathan, it was a pleasure to meet both of you and I look forward to our next meetup. Loved that Basil-Pesto-Chicken pizza!!!
