Group Announcement to the WA State CIO's List

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Following up on the group meeting, I posted the following to the Wa State CIO's list.

--

The Olympia area Drupal Users Group is trying to build a critical mass to sustain regular meetings in the Olympia area. For those not familiar with Drupal, “Drupal is a free software package that allows you to easily organize, manage and publish your content, with an endless variety of customization.” Drupal is seeing rapid growth in the government sector including use here in Washington State.

This group is oriented toward the full range of possibilities with Drupal, from use as an off-the-shelf CMS to developing custom backend applications driven by the Drupal framework. We need your help in building an active community. Please consider joining the group at https://groups.drupal.org/olympia-wa and posting what you might be interested in learning about or sharing with the group.

Hey Bill

It was great to meet you!

If we can get enough folks interested in the Site Building Administration points you listed I would be happy to lead a walk through any time if there was interest in getting together say more than at the monthly.

Another great resource in the meantime that we mentioned at the meet is www.buildamodule.com which again offers us the chance to use the content for a period of time we establish with the owner Free when used as Mentored Training. So lets use it! Also you can check out www.drupalize.me

I hope to have some time to put toward getting the word out as well so we can grow the group and have our reviews benefit as many as possible. Thanks for outlining this also!
