Position: Lead Web Developer - Drupal / PHP / LAMP - Contract
Location: Boston, MA (seaport district)
Term: 6 Months to start
First 2 weeks of work must be onsite, then the contractor can work 3 days a week from home

Our client in Boston, MA was recently named one of the best companies to work for in Boston! They have an immediate need for a Lead Web Developer to join their world-class Software Application Development team.
As the Lead Web Developer for our client’s corporate website, you will collaborate with our Marketing team to design and implement new features and functionality, establish and guide the website’s architecture, ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the site. Our client’s website continues to expand and evolve as they grow through acquisition and international expansion, making this a truly exciting time to lead development of their website.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our client’s Drupal 7 website
- Collaborate with Marketing users to establish the development roadmap
- Build and deploy custom Drupal modules
Establish subsites for new international locations (using multisites or Organic Groups configuration)
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline preferred
- 3+ years’ experience developing web solutions in Drupal and PHP implementations in a LAMP environment
- Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture
- Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as CTools, Views, and Panels
- Experience creating custom Drupal modules
- Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
- Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs
Nice to have Skills, NOT REQUIRED:
- Manage our client’s continuous deployment process using GitHub and Jenkins
- Familiarity with backend server setup and databases (Oracle, MySQL)
- Familiarity with Linux-based web application deployment and configuration with the Apache Web Application server is desired
- Experience with Drupal configuration management to automate deployments in a continuous integration environment (Nice to have)
