Switched to chrome and i am good now.

My firefox was having lookup issues "Firefox can't find the server at www.capetown2015.drupalcamp.co.za.". Its probably a problem with my settings.

Thanks, i can see the site now.

No www

riaan burger's picture

Hey dcmul,

Yup, there's no www in there:

Right one: http://capetown2015.drupalcamp.co.za/
Wrong one: http://www.capetown2015.drupalcamp.co.za/

Browsers keep hiding stuff from us to make things more "friendly". I was working on our Ansible Firefox role the other day, these are some settings that may help. Go to about:config in your URL bar to change them:

- description: Don't guess www or not if the one supplied does not work.
  name: browser.fixup.alternate.enabled
  value: 'false'

- description: Don't hide http(s)://
  name: browser.urlbar.trimURLs
  value: 'false'

works

Worked like a charm.

Thank you Riaan

Pre-Camp Get-Together

Hello Everyone,

Man, I'm looking forward to this Camp! Organisation looks amazing and as a visitor, one among a group from Johannesburg, I can just sit back and enjoy what will be our best camp yet. Well, I'm guessing there will be a few things for us to do ;-)

We're planning a get-together the night before at the hotel and you are all welcome to come say hello. It won't go late, we want to be fresh for the next day.

At City Lodge Victoria and Alfred Waterfront from 18:00 on Thursday the 3rd of September.

Kind regards,
Riaan

Post-Camp Get-together

Thank you Riaan, I'm also very excited!

We're in the process of organising the last bits and pieces and hope we can meet your expectations :)
I unfortunately will not be able to join the pre-camp meetup. However, with regards to the post-camp party, we have reserved space in a bar near the camp venue where everyone who doesn't want the day to end too early can come for some food and drinks. So hopefully you and all visitors coming from Johannesburg and Durban will join us there.

Kind regards, Dania

I'm there!

Hey Dania,

I definitely won't want the day to end ;-)

There aren't any late night flights to Johannesburg, so I'm guessing you'll see all of us there and in a way more relaxed state than you usually find Johannesburgers ;-)

Cheers,
Riaan

In a weeks time, Cape Town's first DrupalCamp will be taking place at Friends of Design on Bree Street, and we can't wait.

• Registration

Registration for the Camp starts at 8am and runs till 08:55. Please do your best to be on time, as we'd like to start at 9am sharp.

It will feature 2 tracks, "Frontend, Design and UX" and another one for "Backend, Sitebuilding and Devops", each with 6 informative presentations and enough room for Q&As. Please note that seating is limited, so register now.

• Speakers and Schedule

Our Schedule and Speaker List is confirmed and live! We're also happy to announce that Open Source evangelist at Acquia, Jeffrey A. "jam" McGuire will be our Keynote Speaker, via live streaming from Cologne.

• Lunch and After Party

We will be serving drinks and a tasty lunch to keep you going, as well as great coffee through out. Don't forget to join us for drinks and snacks after the talks. It'll be a great opportunity to network and make some new friends within the community. For those who want to continue the party, we will be having an awesome "After Party" at a venue within walking distance of the Camp, you're most welcome to join us.

We'll be covering all catering at Friends of Design, just not at the after party venue, where everyone will cover their own account.

• Arrive or Leave in style with Uber!

We have partnered with Uber to get all guests to and from the event safely and in style! All new users can sign up here with the promotional code: DrupalCampCT, in order to receive a free first ride up to R150. To request your ride, simply download the free application for iPhone, Android, Blackberry 7, Windows Phone, or visit the mobile site: m.uber.com.

The Camp would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship by various individuals and businesses. A big thank you goes out to our Venue Sponsor, Friends of Design, our Gold Sponsors, Rogerwilco, Amazee Labs and Burtronix, as well as our Media Partner, Design Indaba. Thank you also to our Silver Sponsors, Media Machine, Robboto and Telamenta, our In-Kind Sponsors - Uber, Platinum Guest House, Kuber Firma and B Line Creations and our ever supportive Individual Sponsors - Alex Kirsten, Charles Tanton, Daniel Bornman, Duncan Moore, George Ziady, Gregory Gerhardt, Ingrid Serritslev Talbot, Johan du Bois, Mark Pape, Sergio Henriques and Zach Chandler.

Thank you to all those who have registered for the Camp. We look forward to meeting you on the day.

See you on the 4th!
