Double question regarding OA + multisite + Open Directory integration

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello to all members,

One of our customers, currently using Drupal (single site), is thinking to create a new collaborative site. We are trying to convince him that Open Atrium can be just the ticket, instead of using Microsoft Share Point.

I tried to find information in Open Atrium web site, but found little about wether creating a multiple site with OA will be feasible or not, and if it will solve more problems that it can create. Has someone in the group experience about creating parallel web sites with OA, one traditional, the other collaborative? Will it raise some compatibility issues?

Besides, can an OA multisite use regular user authentication for one site and Active Directory for the other? I suppose it can if the site authenticating against AD has the proper plugin up and running, while the other site has not, but I would really appreciate some opinions about this possibility.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.

I guess you can make a multisite the same way you would do it with a regular drupal instalation.
Tell your customer that Microsoft has stoped giving share point support for external sites.

Thank you for your feedback,

Thank you for your feedback, Leo.
My main concern is wether once Active Directory is enabled in one of the sites, it would take over authentication for all the sites. I suppose some testing is in order.
Share Point has been a nightmare for our customer since minute one. Users ignore it, IT department hate it, but it stays because of a corporate decision.
A parallel Drupal service has delivered services for the same community for years, is broadly used on a daily basis and is a living thing, including the addition of new features and tweaking whatever is needed.
Cheers.
