DrupalCon Dublin 2016 - Putting a local team together

So as you've all heard by now, DrupalCon is coming to Dublin next year, whohoo! It'll be an exciting, and busy, year for us over the next 12 months but I, for one, am excited about it, and can't wait to make this happen! :)

We had a long discussion about it at the Dublin meetup last week, and while the Drupal Association essentially runs and manages the event, there are things that need to be done by the local community. So one of the first things we need to do is to put a local team together.

I've been in contact with the Drupal Association, and they're going to get me the list of things that the local team need to be (or could be) involved in and roughly when those sort of things need to happen by. I should have that list before the next monthly meetup at the end of October.

Based on past experience with DrupalCon London and Dev Days Dublin, I would recommend that we put a core steering committee/team together, who can drive the local community involvement, as well as a pool of volunteers that the steering group can call on to help get stuff done.

Anyone willing to be part of that core group, and has the time to dedicate to it, please come to the next Dublin meetup on 28th October, where we will be discussing this again and putting that core team together.
