Right so DCB is creeping up quickly! I am thinking of organising weekly skype or face2face meetings - not long ones, just a quick catch up to see where we are and what we have done, I think we need that to move things forward considering November is fast approaching - let me know your thoughts.
Venue:
So for those of you that don't know - the uni isn't available this year unless we have 21k !!! Apparently there's a lot of work going on at the university meaning they can't sponsor that many events next year - so Kev and I have been to see a couple of venues.
I went and saw Brighton City College - I think it might be about perfect... there were 2 smaller rooms and the main hall (capacity 300 - but they suggested max 250 so it's comfortable). There's also seating outside of the rooms where a cafe is normally opened - although it won't be open sat and sunday - maybe just sat morning. They can provide us with tea and coffee things though.
We can bring in external caterers - even though we will have to pay for the venue we spent near 5k on food last year so we can potentially save money there.
What were peoples thoughts on the lunches on the business day? I can possibly arrange for them lunch boxes to come on sat and sunday.
There's a lot of freedom in terms of what we can put where, I asked about spaces to put boards and tables about - they are fine with that. We can use the main reception for when people arrive, it's on the first floor, I have enquired about disabled access but not heard back yet.
Estimation of price for venue :
Room hire Saturday and Sunday £2,200.00 no VAT
Premises Support £1,260.00 plus VAT

I'm not 100% sure I can make it tonight, trying to get out of plans I've already made, totally forgot the meetup was tonight, doh. I don't know what the topic of convo is tonight, but maybe we can get some ideas thrown around.
Kev and I will also be meeting for a late lunch this week if anyone else is about to go over some DCB things.
