Celebrate D8 with the Melbourne Drupal community

We’re inviting developers, designers, business owners, Drupal users, the Drupal-curious and all their friends to come and celebrate the launch of Drupal 8 with us in the heart of Melbourne.

As part of a series of parties held around the globe, we’re getting together to launch this major update to a powerful software platform that has been crafted by volunteers over the past five years. Open source, free and built by passionate experts, Drupal 8 features more than 200 new features and improvements. We think that deserves a celebration, and we’d love for you to join us.

• Where: We’ll be at The Wilde, 153 Gertrude St, Fitzroy. This wonderful venue is so quintessentially Melbourne, in the heart of Fitzroy in a Victorian-era building that’s now a gastro-pub. With an extensive beer list and cocktail selection, we know we’ll be well looked-after.
• When: November 20th, at 7pm, until late. Drupal 8 is launching officially on November 19th, so we’ll be in sync with the Northern hemisphere celebrations, and free to party on into the weekend.
• What’s happening: We’ll do a quick speech at some point in the night, but in general we’ll be eating, drinking, chatting and high fiving. No technical talks, no slides, and no lanyards - this is all about the good times.
• How much: Free! We’re working with sponsors to throw a wonderful party for you with a bar tab and canapes.
