This month's Portland Drupal User Group will take place at Metal Toad (522 SW 5th Ave. Ste 400) from 6pm - 8pm. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
This month's presentations
Dan Linn will talk about Overcoming Imposter Syndrome.
-- and --
Alex Ellison will be presenting on common points of confusion for novice Drupal users and easy ways to mitigate this confusion.
Learning to navigate the default Drupal admin experience can be a huge a barrier to entry for content managers.
Developers and site-builders alike often work with clients or internal stakeholders who are not familiar with Drupal (at best) or completely non-technical (at worst). Regardless of technical experience, everyone has come to expect simple, elegant interfaces that rival industry juggernauts like Airbnb, Facebook, and Pinterest. Unfortunately, most organizations simply don't have budgets that can support such robust development.
Fortunately, Drupal gives us a great jumping-off point for designing CMSs that maximize bang for the buck. With a little polish, Drupal can deliver first-class content management UX.

Show and tell + this month's topic
This month's topic is improving the Drupal admin experience. Takeaways for both Drupal 7 and 8.
Also, have you discovered a new module? Do you have a status update on a module or theme port to Drupal 8? There will be some time after the main presentation for several short show-and-tell presentations (5-10 minutes each).

Speaker line-up finalized!
This has been a rapidly evolving line-up!
Dan Linn will talk about Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and Alex Ellison will be presenting on points of confusion in the Drupal admin UX and how to clarify that for clients and devs alike.
We probably won't have time for show-and-tell, this time around, but if you have something in mind that can be shown in 5 minutes or less, let me know at the start of the meetup and we can squeeze you in!
