Join the Boston Drupal Group on June 7th 2016 for a night of Drupal focused conversations, presentations and talks.
Call for Lightning Talks
This month we are again putting out a call for themed lightning talks. Volunteers get between 5 to 10 minutes to present a talk. We are looking for talks on the following topics:
How do I find that? Search and Drupal
What good is content if your users cannot find it? This month we are looking for lightning talks centered around the topic of Search and Drupal 7 & 8. Possible questions we are looking to answer with lightning talks:
- Search API, Apache Solr, ElasticSearch
- what's the difference?
- How do you decide which to use?
- What do you need to get setup?
- Walk us through configuring search in Drupal 7 or Drupal 8
- What design and UX decisions go into creating useful search bars, search pages and search results?
- How do you create your search results pages? Views, modules, Drupal core? What are the pros and cons of your approach.
- What's the deal with Faceted search?
- How do you get your site content indexed by Google or other search engines so that people can find it?
- How do you search for modules, themes or plugins to use when building a Drupal site?
- How do you search for answers when you are stuck on a site build?
- How do you approach searching for answers when buidling a drupal project, such as when you need to find a module, theme or solution?
If you have an idea for a lightning talk on the topic of search, sign up by leaving a comment below. Perhaps your idea will inspire others.
