Summer is over, and kids are back in school. This means one thing: meetings for the Waterloo Region Drupal Users Group are back!
For our September meeting, Blaine Lang and Randy Kolenko of Nextide will be telling us how to get data from external sources into Drupal.
This will be a case study of how they migrated 20,000+ ads and dealer data from a MS SQL and single IIS server to Drupal 7 on Pantheon.
They will explore the custom feeds plugins used to transform the data. Feeds is now used daily for importing in 1000's of ads daily from major dealers and Autotrader.
They will also discuss how Drush is used and why daily imports are automated.
Meetings for the Waterloo Region Drupal Users Group happen on the third Thursday of each month (except for July, August and December). The meetings are held at The Working Centre, at 58 Queen Street South in Kitchener, between 19:00 and 21:00.
If you have a Drupal related topic, or showcasing a web site or a module that you built with Drupal, please contact us, and we will arrange for a talk.
