I wanted to post a quick summary of things the group is planning.

Where is everyone coming from?

Since we no longer have access to the RTP meeting space we're looking at maybe alternating between space in Durham and Raleigh. We've also been offered space in Carrboro. To help us plan our meeting schedule it would be helpful to know where everyone is driving from when they come to a meeting so please take a minute to complete this poll.

Hack Nights

We're currently working on finding a location for hack nights. The Starbucks near the intersection of 54 and 55 has been suggested as a possible location. We'll try to get a date on the calendar for the next hack night some time in the next couple of days. If anyone has suggestions for a location please contact me.

Presentation Topics

Next month's presentation will be on approaches to setting up a development + staging + live Drupal environment. If there are other topics you'd like to see covered by the group or (even better) you have a presentation you'd like to give please post to the group or contact Julia or myself.

Training

There has been some discussion about putting together some structured training, possibly a one or two day weekend training camp. If that sounds like something that would interest you let Julia or myself know. Having some idea of how many folks in the group would be interested in something like this would really help with planning.

Possible location

I'm inquiring with the administration at Wake Tech to see if maybe we could reserve a computer lab on one of our campuses sometime, if you'd like. It'd be very convenient for us if we could do this at Wake Tech some time and we have tons of rooms. I just want to make complete sure that it's completely feasible per our policies and such.

Training

I think Drupal training is a great idea. Many folks here at Duke would be interested as we've been building more and more Drupal sites around the university. I'm happy to assist with any sort of training or planning if you guys need help -- keep me posted!

Wake Tech Can Host

If you would like Wake Technical Community College to host, let me know. I can book a computer lab if you let me know if you're interested, or not. Let me know what your needs are. We actually tried to get Julia and Sheena to come out here last fall to do something similar, but it didn't work out, unfortunately.

We've come a long way since then with our knowledge of Drupal and would be glad to help, if you need us to.

A Conference Room, located in the Bank of America Building downtown Chapel Hill, can be made available after hours. There is plenty of parking, many pizza places nearby and it is on the bus line. http://www.cscc.unc.edu/cscc/contactus.php
