For Drupalcon SF: Drupalchix Sticker Design Contest

Great news everybody!

Our company has offered to sponsor the printing of a Drupalchix Sticker. The sticker will be distributed at DrupalconSF, and Drupalchix will be able to take some stickers home to share with others at local Drupalcamps and meetups.

To make this the most awesome sticker ever, we are coordinating a sticker design contest.

This is how the contest works:
You: Design the graphics for a sticker.
Attach your final design to this thread by March 15, 2010.
Please see 'Sticker Design Specifications' below. (Stickers are 2 color, not 4 color.)
Everyone: Voting will begin March 17, 2010, and end March 30, 2010 (to give us time to get the stickers printed before DrupalconSF.) We will announce the winner by April 1, 2010.

Caveats:

To ensure a fair contest and awesome sticker, here are some guidelines.

“We” refers to Chach Sikes and Erika Stenrick, who both work at Gorton Studios and will be coordinating the contest and ordering the final stickers.

• The Drupalchix Logo is the default design. It is already awesome and we are happy to make it the sticker. It will be available as an option in the voting. It will look something like this: http://www.cafepress.com/drupalchix.305862205

• The purpose of the contest is to provide an opportunity to design a special sticker, because that is fun. The sticker will help increase Drupalchix & Drupal visibility. It can have a message, use the current Drupalchix logo as inspiration, show support for Drupalchix, support for women in open source, etc. Those are just ideas and that part is up to you.

• Let's not create stickers no one will want. Keep in mind that we will print 1000-3000 stickers (that is the most economical.) So making stickers that would be desirable outside of DrupalconSF & desirable to people who want to support Drupalchix. This way, the extra stickers can be shared with people at Drupalcamps, and not wind up in the trash.

• If less than 3 people contribute designs, then we will use the Drupalchix Logo as the sticker and cancel voting.

• If less than 10 people vote on the 3+ designs, then we will also use the Drupalchix Logo as the default sticker.

• We will review the entries to make sure that submissions are printable (meaning, 4-color designs will be rejected.) If you have questions about this, submit your design by March 23, 2010 and ask us to review it.

• We reserve the right to reject offensive or inappropriate entries.

• We will announce when/where to come get stickers at DrupalconSF. More details on that later.

Sticker printing specifications:

Quantity: We will print 1000-3000 stickers. Extra stickers will be distributed to Drupalchix to bring home to distribute to local Drupalcamps and Drupal meetups.

The stickers will be 2 color – not 4 color. We are getting the stickers printed using green technologies, and 2 color is the best choice, economically.

Description: Stickers made from Corn

Art: Accepted formats: .ai/.eps We will need non-flattened source files from the winner

Color: 2 spot PMS + Gloss or Matte U.V. printed with water-based inks

Size: 2” -- can be square, round, or square with rounded corners

Stock: EarthFirst PLA white 100% Corn stock w/S692N adhesive on 40#brown liner (this liner is recyclable) - Compostable/bio-degradable under ASTM 6400, certified by BPI (Biodegradable Plastic Institute), carbon neutral polymer, made from a sustainable resource in the U.S. of A. and recyclable

Stickers will cut into little squares for easier distribution.
