User group meeting

This month's Portland Drupal User Group will take place at Phase 2 (514 NW 11th Ave #203 · Portland, OR)

On the second Wednesday of every month at a rotating location, come to the Portland Drupal User Group meetup to talk about Drupal and hear a few presentations.

This month, we will continue our series of discussions about Composer and how it fits in to a local/dev/deploy workflow.

Also this month, Erin Rasmussen (codeknitter) from Acquia will be giving an abbreviated version of her DrupalCon Seattle talk about caching in Drupal 8: https://events.drupal.org/seattle2019/sessions/drupal-8-core-caching-edg...

In Erin's words:

It's about d8 caching edge cases where content can render in ways that weren't intended by the designer. This can be a bit tricky to find when there are multiple caching layers - so some of it is just going over how to track down and identify Drupal core caching issues, then some best practices to help you resolve them, or better yet avoid them entirely.

For future months, we're looking for people to give talks. They could be 5 minutes or as long as about 45 minutes. If you're interested, find me on Slack or talk to Tim during the meetup.

Our icebreaker question of the day will be "What is a trip you've had to take for work? Did it end up being what you expected?"

Pizza and socializing starting at 6pm followed by presentations starting at 6:30 pm. Following the meetup, we will head to a nearby pub for socializing.

Here is the rendering and caching video Erin mentioned in her talk:

Last night I covered a lot from this blog post:
https://www.lullabot.com/articles/continuous-integration-drupal-8-circleci

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQHheaESpvE This is the DrupalCon talk @ambermatz has referenced as a good intro to "production artifacts"

There is also a git repo to go along with it:
https://github.com/craychee/no-excuses-drupal/blob/master/circle.yml
At the end is an example of deploying an "artifact" to Pantheon.

Thank you!

I know this was a while ago but here is a YouTube video that shows a sample. Of GitLab. I think pretty soon we may have some video from MidCamp showing the actual working examples:
