We have two speakers for our May meetup:

Upgrading to Drupal 8/9 using the Migrate API

This session will provide an overview of the process to upgrading your Drupal 6/7 site to Drupal 8 using the Migrate API. We will talk what tools are available. Also, how to handle site architecture changes during the upgrade process.

Presenter:Mauricio Dinarte is a Drupal and React.js developer with a passion for teaching and traveling. On his blog https://understanddrupal.com/ he writes about Drupal in English, Spanish, and French. In 2019, he wrote series of 31 articles about getting started with the Migrate API. This year he is producing courses on Drupal 9 migrations and upgrades.

Is your D8 site is ready for Drupal 9?

We'll look at various tools that you can use to evaluate your site's readiness, both in the UI and from the command line. We'll show how to evaluate both contributed modules, and your custom code.

Presenter: Dave is Director of Technical Strategy at Advomatic. He's been playing around with Drupal for the last 15 years.

This meeting will be held online using Big Blue Button. Big Blue Button does not require any client-side software and has been tested on Mac, Linux, and Windows. Thanks to Paul Nijjar for setting this up for us.
