The DrupalSouth Steering Committee has been running since July 2019 with the primary purpose of ensuring continuity of DrupalSouth events and facilitating knowledge transfer to support the Drupal Community in Australia and New Zealand.
All 5 seats are open for re-election in October and will be transitioned to rolling 2 year terms over the coming year. Please post any public questions you have in this thread or email elections@drupalsouth.org.

Hi everyone,
A quick but important update on the DrupalSouth Steering Committee elections. As noted in the original election plan, the call for self nominations was open for a month from September 1 to September 30. Following posts on groups.drupal.org, DrupalSouth.org, Twitter and the Drupal #australia-nz Slack channel, only one self nomination was received for five possible seats.
The Steering Committee Charter provides a mechanism for existing terms to renew if not enough self-nominated candidates stand for election, or for the committee to invite candidates directly to replace existing members who wish to step down. The DrupalSouth Steering Committee is governed by the Linux Australia Council, who have approved this approach.
To ensure the Steering Committee remains representative of the Drupal community, no new committee members will be finalised until after DrupalGov on November 5. This provides a month for anyone to post comments here on Drupal.org, contact the Steering Committee directly via chair@drupalsouth.org or raise governance concerns with the Linux Australia Council. We will also hold an open meeting of the Steering Committee during DrupalGov to answer any questions in person.

Hi everyone,
As noted in the last update about the DrupalSouth Steering Committee nominations, we have invited the following people to take up two committee seats in November 2020:
Janna Malikova (https://drupalsouth.org/people/janna-malikova): Co-organiser of DrupalSouth Gold Coast 2016 and DrupalCamp Byron Bay.
Dave Sparks (https://drupalsouth.org/people/dave-sparks): Co-organiser of DrupalSouth Auckland 2017
Janna & Dave will be joining the Steering Committee Panel at DrupalGov on Thursday November 5 at 11:15 AEDT https://drupalsouth.org/events/drupalgov-2020/schedule
The panel is open to anyone attending DrupalGov to get an overview of initiatives the DrupalSouth Steering Committee has focused on in 2020, where priorities are directed in 2021, and for Drupal community members to ask questions and put forward new ideas.
If there's no objections to Janna & Dave's appointment to the Steering Committee, they'll take up their seats formally following DrupalGov, replacing Thom Toogood and Pamela Barone.
Thanks!
