Strange Date / Time Calculation in Verify Task Status Message

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I've completed my installation of Aegir. The verify task has been running for a while. When I look at the task, I see:

Submitted by root  on Tue, 03/09/2010 - 22:17
Platform: Drupal 6.16
Status: Processing
Started: Wed, 12/31/1969 - 19:00
Processing time: 40 years 11 weeks

While I truly wish that I were the age I was in 1969, alas that is not possible, at least not with Aegir, and the time does work correctly on my server.

Also, how long should the Verify task run? What is it verifying?

Thanks.

Verification

I believe that the verification task runs to ensure that the Aegir user has all the correct permissions, the Aegir mySQL user has all the correct permissions, that Drush is fully functioning, as well as all associated modules, especially provision. It basically runs verification to ensure that all the necessary settings, files, and permissions are set up for Aegir to be able to do its job and to run scripts and such.

As for the date, I can't help you there.

Still Verifying

So, verification has now been running for over 12 hours. Something must be wrong, but what? How can I tell? Is there a log or something like that? Thanks.

Sounds like something's gone

Sounds like something's gone stale with the task, should not take more than a few seconds. Delete the task node itself and go run a Verify task on the platform manually (click the Verify button on the Platform node). If it is the verification of the platform and not the site that you're talking about.
