I there anyone interested in having a meetup in Broward county? The Miami and West Palm Beach camps seem to have their meetups scheduled on a regular basis now. Maybe the Broward meetup can be scheduled the second week of the month, since the Miami meetup is on the 24th(ish) of the month.
I work for a Microsoft shop, so I do not have a venue in mind, but we could always get things started at a Starbucks or something. I live in Pembroke Pines and work in Sunrise, so I am partial to southwest Broward, but I am open to a more central Broward location.
Please respond to this message if you are interested in getting a meetup going in Broward. If you have a venue in mind, please add it as a suggestion.
A tentative date for the first Broward meetup would be Wednesday, April 7th.

Sounds good to me. I live in Dade, however thursdays I have choir practice and I unfortunately can't make them. I work in pompano beach, so ft laud would be on my way home. I know the UX meetup uses conference room in Panera. It works great and accomodates about 20 people or so. I'm not sure what steps we have to take to reserve it. Also we should keep a "build it and they will come" mentality. :-) As long as the meetings are held consistently, people will show up.

I would love to meetup! I'm in the cooper city area but willing to travel. I've only seen the conference rooms in the Dunkin Donuts before. They aren't bad. Fits maybe 15-20 people.
Broward Location
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
To narrow down the location a bit, I would recommend that the place we choose is right off a major highway (it will cut down on the travel time for all of us). From all of the locations of the people that have commented so far, I would suggest that we meet near the intersection of I-595 and University Drive. For our first Broward meetup, a Panera or Dunkin Donuts sound fine to me. We can always change the location once we have a group of regular participants that can decide what is best suited for the group.

Dunkin Donuts is in a plaza on south side of 595 just west of Pine Island. Same plaza as the pool hall, roundup,... I think there used to be a theater there...?

First Broward Meetup Scheduled
I have scheduled the first Broward meetup. The location is the Dunkin Donuts suggested by SiliconValet. The venue has two conference rooms. The larger room was already booked, so I chose the small one. We can discuss another venue for future meetups.
