Okay, so for the past several meetings we've hashed out ideas back and forth, but we haven't really acted or followed up on them. I took down some more notes after the SAD Meetup today. Let's hammer down what we want and make a wiki page out of Ideas, People who want to give spiels, and the rough schedule and structure of meetups.
Here's my notes and a start to organizing it all.
General Meetups
- Goal: Getting more people to join us in Drupal community as developers
- Goal: Connecting doers together to help on projects whether commercially or not
Structure Ideas
- More Meet & Greet + Food before the meeting
- 15-20min "cool" idea/site/module/theme presentation
- 20-40min mini-talks about the same topics every month? Easier to make a 20min talk then a 1.5 hour presentation. Should we make them all related per meeting, separate into "tracks", etc...
- Workshop-like meeting?

Potential Topics
Security + Best Practices(striked because it's no longer potential, but scheduled)- Cool stuff we discovered at DrupalCon
- round table, workshop with a server with a VPS for everyone
- Theme development - from PSD to sub-theme or from HTML to sub-theme
- Module development - another primer on module development in 20-40min bits every meeting
- Import users/wordpress to Drupal
Current Schedule
- April: Security + meet&greet + cool site?
- May: Drupalcon wrapup/discussion + meet&greet + cool site?
- June: Workshop
SAD Meetups
- Clintonville Panera seems to be well-liked with the table in the center
Meetup ideas
- Everyone makes _________ site from RFP or idea
- Codug.com design & structure competition
- Same old meet&greet + help each other out
