I haven't been able to use the many wysiwyg modules available to drupal. Any of the people here have ideas about the pro's and cons of TinyMCE for example or FCKEditor? Love to hear your thoughts.

Love FCKeditor but TinyMCE is a fave as well
I use FCKeditor for most of my client projects.
Whenever I look for flexibility, I use TinyMCE --most probably for it's spell-checking and ajax plug-ins.
Fave wysiwyg editors:
* FCKeditor - very "ms word-like" UI. Compatible with IMCE
* TinyMCE - Popular, fast, reliable, but, sometimes CSS unfriendly. IMCE-compatible.
* Whizzywig - Worth checking out. IMCE-compat as well.
* Widgeditor - Simplistic and reliable. Allows jQuery & fQuery usage. My
fave for minimalistic blog & node content.
I do have a love-hate relationship with...
* BUeditor - Loosely-coupled features. Cool a an uber-customized editor.
* YUI Rich Text editor - Uses Yahoo's interface. Eye-candy!
* WYMeditor - trendy but too wordpressy for me.
* QuickTags - comfortable for html codes & geeks alike. Somehow "HTML-what-you-get".
I use FCKeditor a lot even though I don't know what "FCK" stands for. I wish someone could tell me, for my typing pleasure. :)

very useful thread.
thanks for kick-starting this thread guys. very useful.
I tended to use Tinymce, out of habit (it's one of the earlier Drupal editors that came out) more than anything else and one of it's very useful features is the ability to create profiles and match Drupal User Role Types to a custom editor.
On the flip side, it always struck me as a huge download - the full Tinymce code and add-ons is quite heavy with a lot of files - which I didn't like. But as an editor it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Now that there are more to choose from, I think I will start playing around with a few of the other editors mentioned and report back up here.
Cheers
Dub
Looking forward to your evaluation
Dub,
I'm glad that you visited this thread.
There's a lot going on with Drupal that needs catching up to. So much to try, too little time. :) It's like everyday is a new day.
Mabuhay (long live) to all our Drupal friends in your vicinity!

FCK = Frederico Caldeira
FCK = Frederico Caldeira Knabben
I've tried TinyMCE so far but not the other editors. I'll give FCK a try

How do I activate FCK module
Hello all:
Please pardon my very basic question: how do I get FCK running in drupal? I have installed ver. 2.4.3 in 'sites / all / modules /' of my drupal folder and was hoping to see FCK editor in administer>>Site Building>>Modules but did not see the module under the list.
Thanks, Jun D!
