Ideas??

Mine is, we can have blogs, videos, podcast, screencast of how to install and configure Drupal code and contributed modules, and other stuff like theming and module development posted by registered users. Maybe we can use vimeo, youtube, etc.

At first, we need to filter who these users are. Quality is better than quantity.

I'll ask the owner of drupal.ph if we can use it as our Drupal e-learning site.

+100 for Drupal.ph

Truly, Drupal.ph is a valuable domain (and a short one) for us. In the worse case that the owner doesn't care to share, we might be forced to buy a new one.

While I really love having localized (aka Tagalized) Drupal videos or tutorials, the challenging part is the actual production of these materials.

I foresee a lot of these required ingredients:

  • Time planning, recording, editing, uploading, publishing, marketing and feedback management of Videos -- something we all worker bees don't have the luxury of at this time (we need to work to live diba?).
  • Branding -- to give off the "cool to ah" viral effect (of sorts)
  • Herding -- we must be able to generate & gather analytics from the materials we produce so we can improve on further training materials.

These are the three points I can think of at the moment...

What do you think?

@Marc, I think we can

@Marc, I think we can aggregate, get content from other Drupalistas and re-post. But if we want it to be localized, then we have to create it ourselves. It won't have to be great or professionally looking :)

Hi All, Good news! The owner

Hi All,

Good news! The owner of drupal.ph, Mr Peter Christoper, has allowed us to use drupal.ph for our e-learning site. In his exact words:

Yes I'm happy to allow the domain to be used for the benefit of all
drupal users in philippines.

Now, we need to start discussing the features of the site. Calling all Drupalistas out there. Let us contribute and collaborate!

Thanks,
Jhef

hooray!

Yay! This is sooo exciting.

Now all we need is to figure out what features we'd like to have on the Drupal.PH website.

Kudos to Mr. Christopher. Ang galing ng convincing powers ni Jhef!

@Marc, what do you think of a separate meet-up for this? Though attendees should have enough knowledge on how Drupal works. Me thinks sometimes in June so come the 2nd meet-up, we can present to the group. I'm really excited about this :)

If we want, we can have a separate "pro's meetup" so we can talk about anything under the sun without worry about technical information overflow haha.
