Many of us hear the need for a document management system from clients, and the community at large, both for internal intranet sites or external sites on the internet.
For our next meeting, Blaine Lang will be providing a demo and overview of a recently released module called 'filedepot' that his company wrote. It provides an integrated document management solution for Drupal. He will also introduce Open Atrium, a Drupal distribution for collaboration and work groups.
The presentation will cover:
- How to install and configure the module
- Drupal integration points
- Basic user features
- How to create and manage document access permissions
- Document version control
- Notification and user preferences
- Desktop client for bulk uploading of documents
- Moderated document controls

Blaine is a partner and consultant with Nextide out of Mississauga and has been an Open Source contributor for nearly 10 years and working with Drupal for only the past 6 months. Nextide focuses on developing business applications in the area of collaboration and business process improvement but have developed applications that applications that range from a VoIP (voice over IP) portal to a custom scoring engine for running a $500,000 fishing tournament.

- Queue Mail: forces all mails to be sent by the Job Queue module, so they are only sent at cron time.
