Open Source Bridge was last week, June 1 - 4th in Portland, OR. This is a conference near and dear to me, it's open source citizens from all over the world gathering to talk about the issues we're all facing, and geeking out on what we're all doing. Lots of fun talks, but the two below are more 'useful'.
Functional Requirements - Bill Fitzgerald of FunnyMonkey and I collaborated on this longer format talk about functional requirements. He has a great followup blog post on FunnyMonkey.com about discovery questions and more. This is a very good model for a client intake survey. It was also a fun talk to give, and we had a great time.
You Shall Not Pass: Managing Client Expectations and Boundaries - Slides are up now, this is a shorter talk not on exactly how to manage client expectations, but where you, the professional service provider working in Open source, are coming from.
I'll watch for recordings and post them as they're available.
