Hi all,
Please help!
I am newish to drupal and am having problems with the settings to send SMS messages to selected list of users. Basically I would like to send out an SMS message whenever a new job is created to geographically selected list of authenticated users. I tried to do so via Actions>Send SMS to contact lists. But I get a warning message which states “invalid argument supplied foreach () in C:...\modules\smsbulk\smsbulk.module on line 122. I have attached screen shots for both the code and the warning message. Also, there are no fields to select for the ‘Number Field’. Having tried many things, it's as a last resort that I am posting here. Apologies in advance if it is the wrong place, but any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
You could see if you could automate this with the messaging & notifications platform.

smsbulk action cannot be used without a pre built view, so what you are trying to do is not possible.

Thanks guys!
I have built a view with a phone field but it seems smsbulk is not reading that view. I have exported that view to smsbulk hoping that this will work to no avail. If I have the view in block form, then it works within the block - you can execute 'send sms to contact lists' in the block and I can also enter the number field there. However, whenever I try to use Site Configurations> Actions it gives the warning message I attached in the previous post. In this case I can't enter the number field as well.
Just FYI, I have attached the view's screen shot. I have used defaults, page, block, Rules executor to try whether it works. But I have failed so far.
Sorry, I am not able to
Sorry, I am not able to attach the screen shots for the view.
afaik there's no way to pass
afaik there's no way to pass the view as argument to the rules/action. so, it works from the block because it "knows" the view is bounded to, but it cannot be specified when you try to configure the action. maybe this can be circumvented as, if i remember well, there's a way to batch execute views bulk operation actions. i will investigate further.

Hi,
Its better to use the bugtracker for feature requests. Here is a patch that will probably solve your issue

batje,
I have tried both of your suggestions, but they do not solve the problem with the 'SMS send to contact lists' action. The Notifications module also doesn't do what I have in mind.
gunzip, Please let me know if there is a solution for this as soon as you can. I have been stuck on this one for a long time now. Thanks!!
