The TinyMCE Defaults module: set up TinyMCE, along with secure input formats, with a mouse click.
Please give feedback on the issue: http://drupal.org/node/202062
@addisun/webchick/other GHOP admins: should I copy the task description over to the GHOP issue queue at http://code.google.com/p/google-highly-open-participation-drupal/issues/... ?

Comments
@billfitzgerald: Please
@billfitzgerald: Please don't copy your issue onto the official Google tracker until it's been discussed and worked out in the drupal.org GHOP task idea issue you created and linked to above. We can't edit issues once they are on the official Google tracker, so it's best to get everything polished on our own issue tracker and then add to Google once it's finished.
That's what I was thinking,
That's what I was thinking, and was why I asked for feedback before copying it over.
I'm thinking of waiting a few days for feedback, and then incorporating any feedback into the version for the Google tracker.
Cheers,
Bill

I think this is a great idea!
I had a script I used to quickly configure TinyMCE to the "standard" configuration for every Drupal configuration we set up at UNR, but it never occurred to me to roll that into a install helper module. When a default configuration has come up before, WYSIWYG haters are quick to shoot down enabling the editor by default for the Admin user.
The only downside I see to this is it adds yet another download to an install process that is already multistep, but I don't see a default config every being rolled into the actual module.
RE YAD: I hear you on this
RE YAD:
I hear you on this -- however, the additional download is far easier than the current process, and results in a more secure, cleaner setup.
This module takes care of creating the profile and setting the input formats so that all of the visible buttons on the tinymce toolbar actually have the necessary html tags allowed to allow them to work. And, the list of allowed tags was collected from feed sanitization page for feedparser, so it's a nice blend of inclusive and secure.
As a last step toward completing this, could any of the TinyMCE gurus take a look at this and give some feedback: http://groups.drupal.org/node/7908#comment-23929
