I've started writing a task focused on accessibility for the Google Highly Open Participation Contest. Then I remembered about this group. I'm no accessibility expert, so I thought I'd post a link to the draft of the task, in case anyone would like to provide feedback.
Keeping in mind the guidelines for writing Drupal GHOP tasks, I'd love to hear any recommendations you might have, especially any specifics I could include to better detail and focus how to perform the evaluation. Please post any feedback on that task to the issue queue.
I'm also interested in additional (or alternative) ideas for an accessibility related task that a high school student could accomplish in about a week. If you have ideas for new tasks, feel free to leave them in the comments below.
I'd be glad to shepherd the tasks through the GHOP queue, if I have enough detail to get going. I'm also willing to turn the tasks over, if any of the accessibility experts here are interested in being a contact for the task.

If GHOP were still running
One could point them here - http://drupal.org/node/364629
But unfortunately I don't think it is. If there are other contests or opportunities to involve students in accessibility enhancements, please add it to the list.
There is the summer of code of course, but I'm not sure who would be in the position to sponsor a student.
