Demonstration on Multisite Drupal Install

At the July 8th, 2010 NH Drupal Meeting, Kevin Flanagan presented a Paper that described setting up Drupal on cPanel with multisites. The focus was on creating a staging environment using multisites.

Excellent demo

Thanks for an excellent live(!) demo where so many things could have gone wrong. Even if something had gone wrong, Kevin had the knowledge and confidence to recover. It was good to learn of his use of checklists, which is something he learned about from being an aeroplane pilot.

I was reminded of a presentation given last week by David Hussman to a meeting of Agile Bazaar on "Products & People over Process & Dogma". At the outset of his talk, Hussman mentioned three books that had influenced him as an agile coach :

I had read the last two out of the three. (I have watched Nassim Taleb being interviewed by Charlie Rose on WGBH.) But then he mentioned a fourth book that has influenced him the most recently, namely, The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande. I was surprised to be the only one in the audience of 80 or so who admitted to having read it. It has become one of my favourites as well.
