local.css not loaded for some parts of a page

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am really new to running a server. Been experimenting with Pantheon. Everything works great, I have the vote up down module which also works except that when I vote and the ajax updates the number of votes, the page changes slightly, some things stop picking up local.css theming (i use a fusion based theme, acquia marina). This happens only in a few places on the page that i noticed: views external filters and the views pager... What/where could the issue be? what should I check?

Any help would be great, thanks!

Hey Gibbet. I'm glad you're enjoying Pantheon, but issues like this are sort of out of the scope of this group. Most likely the changes are due the the AJAX interaction changing some classes in the DOM for the user-agent after you click. However, this probably doesn't have much to do with your server. It's really a basic web page+css issue.

A great tool for debugging this sort of stuff if FireBug which will allow you to inspect any element on your page in real-time. Take a look before/after voting to see what is changing in the class structure that might cause your local.css styles to no longer take effect. Also, you may want to be sure that CSS aggregation is off for debugging like this.

Thanks

Thanks Josh, enjoyed your talk at drupalcon. I do use firebug and I notice that after the ajax vote is caste, local.css is ignored in the views exposed filter and pager. In my stock drupal site on a shared server, this is not an issue and ajax votes from the widget do not affect the look of the site. vote_up_down uses ctools, and i looked through the code for both and didn't find anything that could be causing this for Pantheon.

I understand this is a relatively small issue. Page refreshes bring everything back to normal so I could just stop vote_up_down from using ajax, or just stick with stock drupal... But if you think i can post this elsewhere, or try something I'd be happy to... I tried, disabling varnish and clearing all caches - behavior sticks....
