Hello NW Ohio group, first post here. I am from Maumee, but I have been living in Guatemala.
I am starting a website, www.weguatemala.org, which will be the home page of all things nonprofit / volunteer / humanitarian aid for the country of Guatemala.
As you can see, the website is pretty well up and running. I am just having a few issues that i have not been able to figure out. Mostly they deal with Organic Groups and some customization of that module.
I am hoping to hook up with someone around NW ohio who can volunteer to sit down with me and find a solution to these issues. I have no php experience at all, so module customization is not my gig.
I would be sooo thankful for any help I can get. Ideally we could meet up somewhere, but if we want to do it over the phone or skype that is cool too.

details of the problem
problem is with CCK, i18n synchronization, i18n auto (automatically creates a translated version of the node), and OG.
I18n_auto uses the Rules module to automatically create a new, translated node each time content is created. If I am using the site in English, for example, I can add an organization in English, and upon submitting the form, a corresponding node will be automatically created and translated to Spanish (using the google translator API). The problem is with the CCK fields. When I create an organization, there are several CCK fields (content taxonomy, dates, text) which are set to “synchronize translations.” If the node is created from Admin (user1), the taxonomy terms synchronize and everything is fine. The problem, however, is this: If the node is created from any other authorized user, the taxonomy does not synchronize.
Another possibly related problem is that, for group nodes, the OG settings do not synchronize. Most specifically, if I set the original node to “Moderated - membership requests must be approved,” the automatically created translated node will be set to “Open”.
I just don’t know what to do, and I have no idea why it is happening. I have played with user permissions on “translate content,” but to no avail. I have tried a ton of stuff, but I think its simply over my head. I18n auto is a very small module, as well, and doesn’t get much support in the forums.
