Imagefield issue

My apologies if this isn’t the appropriate place to post this but this issue is a deal killer for us right now and I want to see what solutions are out there

We are having an issue with the module imagefield (inside CCK) not displaying the image that we have uploaded. For example, it will show an image that we add to a page as a broken image file and not the image. When we go and click and select download image it does not retrieve the image either. It will however, place the thumbnail of the image into the imagefield_thumbs folder on the server. When we upload the image and create it using image as the content type (and not as a page on the content type) it is fine. Is there a path that is wrong in my configuration? I was also wondering if I needed to download a module that is all in one for images?
