I see Mercury 1.1 Beta 2 in the amazon public AMI list. Is this the official 1.1 release?

Thanks!

It was going to be, then we had some ideas (uh oh) and added a bunch of new features - so many that I expect we'll skip past 1.1 and call it 1.2 or something. I think you can expect an announcement in the next week or so! :)

Hey Greg,

I'm also interested in this... is the 1.2 announcement planned for this week? Will it be another beta?

Thanks,
Ben

I was expecting an announcement by now, hopefully by the end of this week.

I think it will be a beta announcement, but my feeling is it will be the best Pantheon yet.

I´ve been standing on my toes for a couple of days now.... waiting for the new announcement... ;)

And Greg, would be really nice to have a beta account at getpantheon, I´ve already applied through the form there, but some human intervention ... priceless...

Warm regards,

Aruna

I've also been waiting

I wonder whether it is advisable, instead of waiting for 1.2, to install 1.1 beta and later upgrade using steps similar to "Upgrading from Mercury 1.0 (or Mercury 1.1-Beta) to Mercury 1.1" to version 1.2. Will there be an upgrade path from 1.1 beta to 1.2?

Or is any such upgrade process likely to be imperfect and it is better to wait and make a clean install of 1.2?

Thanks a lot for all the efforts in any case!

I would recommend using Ubuntu Lucid over Karmic or Jaunty due to the the support periods for each release (Karmic and Jaunty have 18 month while Lucid has 5 years).

Since 1.2 isn't ready yet, I'm not sure what the upgrade options will be from Mercury-1.1-Beta to 1.2. I do know that one option will be to fire up a second server, install 1.2 and import your site from the Mercury-1.1-Beta server to the 1.2 server.

We will, of course, test to see if we can update a Mercury-1.1-Beta server straight to 1.2 after 1.2 is final and let everyone know.
