Hi, I've read all the comments/discussion (http://groups.drupal.org/node/21502#comment-295699) and have tried using the Domain alias through my Dv 3.5, but I can't get it to work. I just get a page not found display when entering my additional secondary site (The multisite) All is working fine for my primary domain, so no issue there.
I have:
Added a domain alias to my primary domain in Plesk.
Created and imported the database for my 2nd site
Hand edited the $db_url variable in the sites/example.com settings.php file, also with a unique user.
Gone to example.com/install.php but I just get a "Sorry, we can't find..." page. I would at least expect to get a drupal or Media Temple error page, but I get neither. Can anyone please help or point out what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!

What is providing the "Sorry,
What is providing the "Sorry, we can't find…" page, then? Your browser?
Are you sure the second domain is correctly pointing at your hosting account at the DNS level?

Re: What is providing...
Hi Garret,
Yes the page I referred to is my browser, or rather my ISP (Comcast.) I've gotten both Drupal & Media Temple error pages before so I know what those look like.
As far as the DNS goes its set to "Synchronize DNS zone with the primary domain" which is an option when creating a domain alias in Plesk, so I didn't do anything other than select that option.
Okay, but what about on the
Okay, but what about on the registrar end? Did you register this other domain name and point it to your hosting account correctly?

Re: Okay..
As far as the registrar end, I can't say. Is that just "adding a domain" in Plesk?
Also something occurred to me last night in that I'm probably going about this wrong. What I'm really trying to do is setup a dev server for a new site that I have completed locally, but I haven't bought a domain for it yet as the name could change. In this case I would have to use a sub-domain or a virtual host on the server right?
I do have some other domains from my grid server which I do need to transfer still and I'm sure the domain alias will work for those, I'm about to try it now.
Thanks!
As far as the registrar end,
No. I'm talking about going to a domain registrar and buying a domain name. The most common registrar nowadays is Go Daddy, but I wouldn't recommend actually using them… How did you attain the domain names you are currently using?
