The current project is to allow people to pre-register pets.
People will be able to include information on a pet tag that will allow a finder to look up information on the pet.
Users will be able to look at a pet tag, which will include -> 9PUP.COM + #.
At the web site www.9pup.com, user will be prompted for the ID# (which is the node id) and a pet or owner name, and pull up the pet profile (via Finder module).
The primary web site is www.missingpups.com which is too long for a pet tag.
My main issue is that a central database could save lives. If all pets were registered and people had a place to look for lost and found pets, people and pets would benefit.
A primary goal is to keep this a free service.
Any ideas appreciated. I am not a computer developer, this is a personal project for me.

What about chip numbers?
Lots of pets with embedded microchips will have tags that show the microchip's number. Have you thought about adding a way to look up a pet by the microchip number?

Thanks. Yes hopefully almost any two pieces from the tag will be sufficient. The id number would be more of a failsafe, but any tag should work. Need to figure that out.
The new name is The Pet Recovery Network. The main site is thepetrn.com and the lookup site is petrn.com
It is hard to locate short domain names.
