Is there anyone in the Portland group, I live by Oregon City, that is a member of Location and Mapping group, if so I want to chat with you! A basic summary, Drupal 7 with Gmaps or OpenStreetmaps where user can create a geographic point via interface and by mobile phone GPS.

Join us for a Fun Project: Searchable Wine List Database
What
Most likely a Solr+Sexy-Filter solution. We'll be doing IA, Wireframes, Design, Theming, etc. (unless you want to help in those areas). Robert will be entering all the content. We're hoping 1-2 developers can help make the whole thing hum, so you're going to need a bit of experience under your belt. Robert will be paying for his own hosting, but we will need help setting up the install/management system and are open to recommendations. Oh, yeah… and the whole thing needs to be awesome on an iPad.
Bottom line, we'll all be collaborating together to build this thing. And it'll be fun.

Drupal Users Group: March 2012
Ryan Alsett is presenting at this month's user group meeting, and it looks awesome!
Ryan has built a system that allows attendees to launch a remote desktop session complete with all tools needed to debug a native Drupal instance. In other words, bring your laptops: we're going to debug drupal at the touch of a button, no ugly configuration or installation involved. We're going to walk through the Drupal 7 bootstrap and watch as each part falls into place. Ryan is also going to show us some simple approaches to debugging our own projects.

OpenSourcery, in partnership with Acquia, offers two Portland-based Drupal 7 workshops each month:
Drupal 7 in Day (Monday, April 9 from 9:30am - 5pm)
Site Building with Drupal 7 (Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10 & 11 from 9:30am - 5pm)
Either is is complete on its own, but they combine to make an excellent foundation for site builders and content managers. They're hands-on and suitable for newcomers to Drupal as well as experienced users of earlier versions looking to get familiar with Drupal 7.

We will be meeting at the Forest Grove Library from 6:30-7:30. The subject will be Views usage and configuration. We will be sans the PDX folks that are in Denver (hooray for them for representing Portland for those of us who cannot attend).
If you have questions about Views implementation, come on out and let's work together to solve each other's issues. It will be a short meeting since the Library closes at 8pm.
