bilingual content

Hi Guys,

I am completely new to Drupal, and just started looking last night at Drupal 7 and various language related modules. I have an idea for a multi-language (2 language) site I would like to do, and was wondering if you guys could offer me some initial feed back on how achievable this may be with Drupal, and also how easy/difficult it may be.

I'm new to Drupal and to creating a bilingual website. I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm in charge of bangorlabour.org.uk and have to make it a bilingual site (ie Welsh and English). I've got stuff up in English and know what I need to write in Welsh. But I've no idea how to make it so that the user can select his or her language of preference.

I've tried searching for FAQs, walkthroughs or how tos, but with little avail. Can anyone here help me? I'd be very grateful! Ta.

I'm a Drupal newbie, and am trying to set up a framework for importing the contents of a static site into a Drupal install. I'm running 6.16 on a domain I administer. I don't really want separate English and Japanese pages, and don't really want/need Japanese and English menus. Just want to be able to publish bilingually. I've tried to set things up, but get "moji-bake" after publishing pages that work fine on the static site.
