user information

Hi,

I am looking for a way to allow a user (who I'll call "User1") to send field data from within their profile to User2 (User2 is defined by User1).

By "send" I mean to make this information accessible to User2 and to give User2 some kind of alert or new display when they login that the information has been made accessible.

Is this possible using existing Drupal modules? And if so, which ones? I am still fairly new to the Profiles as Nodes modules, so please bear with me. Any support is greatly appreciated. I am using Drupal 6. Thanks!

Short Project Description:
Creating User SMS registration and notification based on the existing SMS Gateway module, and give some basic SMS-enabled features.

Motivation:
The SMS Gateway module is a good base for SMS integration in Drupal, but it forces the Drupal site creator to write relevant code for any feature needed.

The main idea is to create a basic set of functions and features which will give the site creator set of ready-made features.

I added some custom profile fields in your account weeks ago now. There are two sections, business and personal. Below is a list of fields.

Business
* Organization (text)
* Organization website (URL)
* Organization profile (textarea)

Personal
* Real Name (text)
* Website (URL)
* Birthdate (date)
* About me (textarea) -- like a bio

So...feedback? More fields? Less fields? What should we add or remove?

Some other ideas:
* A "birthday" block would be a lot of fun.
* one of the "user tagging" modules would be great
* this groups site might be the right spot to also run a consultant/developer directory; profile fields could fit into this
