We started the meetup talking about Git. Chris Parsons (@chillin411 http://chris-parsons.com) gave a presentation using Git for source control. Chris covered the following topics:
- What version control is and why it should be used
- Why Git?
- Getting started with Git and Drupal
- Examples of most popular Git commands ( git add, git status, git commit, etc.)
- Merging, Branching, and Reverting
- Pushing code out to the world
Jay Epstein (@jeppy64 http://jay-epstein.com) gave a demo of Views slideshow. He focused the demo on using CSS to customize each slideshow. Jay showed how to use multiple views slideshows on the same page. He also talked about image cache and using libraries in Drupal.
We had one remote participant via Skype and ten in the meeting room. The rest of the meetup was spent answering questions from our participants.
