The Vancouver Drupal Users Group (VanDUG) is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story.
The group mostly hangs out on Slack at https://vandug.slack.com/. We also post our meetings on Meetup.com at https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Drupal-Users-Group. All are welcome, it's listed as a private group to keep out the griefers.
We've been holding semi-regular virtual meetings during COVID-19.

November 2010 Meeting: Node.js - Perspectives from a Drupal Dev
Join us at 6:30pm on Thursday November 25, 2010 at Jibe Multimedia, Inc. for our November meeting and feature presentation: Node.js – Perspectives from a Drupal Dev by Mike Cantelon. Mike, a Drupal developer for the Georgia Straight, will give a introduction of Node.js and a quick how to get started. Node.js, a method for running JavaScript on your server. Why would you want to? Mike will explain! After Mike's presentation you're invited to share your own knowledge by giving a "lightning talk". Lightning talks are short, informational talks of 2 to 4 minutes on some cool Drupal feature or a new site you've launched.
Date: Thursday November 25th, 6:30pm (Note: if you'd like to show up earlier, let us know so we can accommodate)

A plea for help

Surrey Drupal Meetup: Nov. 4: How to Code a Drupal Module
Doug Gough of 313web.com will be presenting on How to Code a Drupal Module. Since Nov. 11th is a holiday we rescheduled our meetup for Nov. 4th.
Doug will be giving a short workshop on how to create a module for Drupal 6. He will demonstrate the process by creating a module that makes changes to your theme based on the current season. Some experience with PHP and Drupal themes is assumed, but the content will be at a level where everyone can get something out of the workshop.

Attendees are invited to share their experiences by giving a 5 minute presentation on any topic of interest to the Drupal community. If you want to use a laptop to show a website or control panel please be sure you have the necessary cable to connect to the overhead projector.

Karim Ratib, maintainer of the Views Bulk Operations module, gives an encore of his PNW Drupal Summit presentation on Views from a programmer's perspective. After Karim's presentation you're invited to share your own experience by giving a "lightning talk" (2 to 10 minutes) on Views or some other aspect of Drupal.
