New Features and a New Look for Drupal NYC

I've taken advantage of the new Panels integration with Groups, http://groups.drupal.org/node/10445, to create what I hope will be a more useful site for the NYC Drupal community. The site now has the a welcome panel and a featured post in the top row. The next two rows list the latest Discussions, Polls, Events, and Wiki posts. Finally, the good old river of news lists all posts to the site in chronological order.

Across the top of the site is a list of sub-pages that I hope will help focus discussions around various topics like online Lessons and Jobs, as well as, organizing Meetups, Hack-a-thons, and DrupalCamps. If you want your post to appear in a particular page, just give it a category label of Lessons, Meetups, Hack-a-thons, or DrupalCamp. All Jobs posts will appear on the jobs page regardless of category. Please do not give your job posting other category labels as this will cause it to be posted in other sections of the site and confuse the discussion.

Anyone can create a featured post by simply categorizing their post as Features. However, if you are going to feature your post above everyone else's then it better be good! We have plenty of tar and feathers on hand for those who try to post random spam to the features section. In general, the features section will be reserved for Lessons, events, and group announcements. Jobs should never be posted as features and will be taken down immediately.

That being said, I want everyone to contribute as much knowledge as possible. Don't be shy, you probably know more about Drupal than 99.999% of the world, so please share. Obviously, the site is a work in progress, so post your comments and suggestions and I will do my best to implement them.

Nicely Done!

Thanks Rob. I hope so. We just have to figure out that pesky White Screen of Death issue and we should be good to go.

We found and fixed the problem. It is a bug in the released version of path_redirect module. The dev version had it fixed. Thanks for the report.

You guys are amazing!
