I'll be in Brisbane overnight on Wednesday 8 June. I haven't been able to find any info on regular Drupal meetups in Brisbane, so I thought I would propose an informal social one somewhere close to the city.

I don't know Brisbane very well, so I'm open to suggestion of where we do it. I think it should be close to city, close to food and must serve real beer.

Please sign up if you're interested in coming along so we have some idea of numbers. Use the comments for sorting a venue.

Hi Dave, would you like to come do a talk at the Bris PHP&MySQL meetup, which meets next Tuesday anyway?
See brisbanephp.net
Catch me if you do, and I'll update the meetup details with your chosen topic.

Cheers,
Arjen.

I have just signed up, but I

I have just signed up, but I would also be happy with the PHP/Mysql meetup idea. I would be interested in hearing about you UUID work and that might be general enough topic for php/mysql group if you where prepared to give a talk?

I will also probably be heading through the city toward Toowong at that time if you need a lift.

@Arjen, I'd attending the meetup, but I'm not in Brisbane until the following evening - sorry.

@univate I'm staying in Toowong, so if you're around that part of town and have time I'd be happy to catch up and discuss UUID over food/beer.

I'd love to come and meet

I'd love to come and meet you, mortendk mentioned you (skwashd) quite a few times back in Copenhagen :)
Would prefer somewhere closer to / in the CBD, if possible (I am in West End).

Haven't been here that long, so only places I can think of are the Boundary Hotel in West End (very good place imho), and the Irish place in CBD where the regular meetups are held. Both serve food and plenty of beer! Maybe someone more local has suggestions?

Venue

It looks like there is enough interest, so now we just need to sort a venue. I'm not really worried about about CBD vs suburbs. I'm happy to go with the Boundary if others are into it.

Boundary Hotel at West End is

Boundary Hotel at West End is fine with me. I will also be heading back to Toowong after if you need to get back there.

Looks like we're off to the boundary hotel in West End tomorrow night from 6.

@univate Thanks for the offer of a lift, I think I'll take you up on the offer :)

Cool! Let's meet upstairs
