User group meeting

The next Brisbane Drupal meetup is on Wednesday 7th October. We've pushed this one back from our usual timeslot of the last Tue/Wed of the month, due to availability of Tim, our presenter at this one.

I've asked Tim to speak on Microsoft Livewriter technology which integrates with Drupal using XMLRPC and makes it possible to insert HTML markup into node bodies, presenting an interesting way around the problem of Javascript-based solutions such as TinyMCE, which most developers have grown to hate.

I do recognise that most of our group are NOT Microsoft-centric, but at least for Marmaladesoul, many of our clients are still using Windows of some variety, and as such this should be quite interesting.

If you've ever used one of the other XMLRPC-based desktop applications (Marsedit etc) please come prepared to do a brief demo after Tim's presentation is finished.

If none of the above made a single word of sense to you, don't despair! We'd love to have you along anyway, and there will be plenty of time for general discussions and catch-up.

Same time (6pm for a coffee/meal and 7pm for the discussion), same place:

Cafe 26
26 Station Rd,
Indooroopilly
(halfway between Indro shopping centre and the train station. View location on Google Maps)
6pm for a coffee/meal and 7pm for the presentation

Looking forward to seeing you there!

we have a mac client considering buying a PC specifically so he can use live writer - its that good. marsedit qumana and anything else we have tried pale into insignificance (and cost money)
ill convert you all back to the light side yet!
No seriously. This is probably the most important tool you can have when using drupal. It will save you time, make you money and it works real well!
See you there

Couldn't have set it up without the instructions though.

Livewriter and Drupal 6

After probably 2 years of using livewriter to upload content plus pictures all of a sudden when trying to upload now the text goes through but am getting a box come up about using FTP.
Are there any special boxes that need to be ticked within Drupal to allow pictures back through as the alternative seems to be a pain.
Thanks
