January Drupal Group Meeting in Sydney

Thanks to Gilad Greenbaum for organising this.
The office is very close to Sydney Central Station between Elizabeth and Chalmers Street just off Belvoir.

Suggestion for Presentation
As a newbie to the nitty gritty of Drupal, I sure would like to see some presentations at a basic level, such as how to write a module and discussions of hooks. theming, etc. I have had to hack a few fixes recently but need to step back and look at it from the beginning.
Please let me know if you are willing to present. Ideally call me on one of the numbers below to discuss.

Also as a newbie myself, and in conjunction with Dennis' suggestion, I wouldn't mind subjecting my initial attempts at a site to the criticism of the more experienced. What I've done so far is fairly limited, but I suspect there may have been other, simpler, ways of achieving the same things. It may be a practical 'hands-on' addition to the evening. What does everyone else think?

A simple example?
hey Dennis,
I'm not sure I can commit do doing another presentation on this for this month, but maybe you could provide some simple example of what you're looking to accomplish. Historically, an "example module" usually just implemented a new content type or something, though this is basically pointless because of cck now. It still might be a useful example for someone, but if you are looking for a particular item it might help narrow the focus.

If someone is knowledgeable - I would really appreciate a discussion on the project.* modules (particularly the release system) and either the case tracker module or using cck/views to replicate their functionality as seen here http://groups.drupal.org/node/7850 and http://drupal.org/user/114447
