Hey everyone
Just to let you know I'm still alive :-)
Looking forward to meeting you tonight, I thought we had agreed to meet at 7:30pm? I'm ok to come earlier if that is what people would like to do. I live a stones throw from town so biggie for me.
I have not made a booking, there will be no need. I double checked with the venue just to be sure.
Looking forward to quiet beer and meal of some description.
I'm already here in the front
I'm already here in the front bar. Have another meeting to goto at 8pm, is why i'm here early ;-)

formalising the Group?
Is anyone interested in formalising the group and seeking some funding for regular meetings? We can kick start the group to meet once every two months and then if there is more interest, we can make it monthly. Any thought?
no need for funding
Just a quick comment to suggest that you don't really need funding to organize a group. In terms of formalising it - I've found that just having some consistency & structure can be the best thing to grow a group.

that is true
I agree with you Ryan but the reason I brough this (funding issue) up is because I haven't seen lot of consistency in drupal meet up and thought if we are backed by some group, it will eventually help us in:
- promoting drupal,
- organising regular meetups,
- organising speakers,
- promotion of group to wider ICT audience, etc.
I am keen to get started on this and would like to know what would be the best time to organise next meetup?
I would appreciate if interested people can respond whether 6.30pm on 23rd Feb (Wednesday) would suit or not?
I don't know that funding is
I don't know that funding is going to help you a lot. From what I can see (although I've only been here for about a year), there just aren't that many Drupal compatriots in Adelaide. I think you'd have to migrate the group to an Open Source Group, or something similar to attract more people :)
Still, I'm definitely interested in meeting with some Adelaide Drupal people and I know my work colleague will be too :)
Come on Guys.. Lets get something rolling in Adelaide
Ok... I keep deleting old Australian group activity in hope that someone else would like to update the Adelaide thread. Sure we are a smaller community, but hey lets get it at least rolling to grow the numbers. We are here to help each other , bounce ideas around and take it from there. We could start off with show and tell of what we have each done, thus allowing notes to be taken of the capabilities of a group. Then we have the right direction to start elaborating on how and why of each module that could be on discussion. I am sure there may be things that I do, that some may find interesting, and I am sure there are things that many of you do that I would find interesting... All we need is a fresh list of names, when is a good availability, even if there are only 3 of us to start with... who cares, we can enjoy a coffee a good chat and enjoy the introductions.
I am available whenever, live in West Lakes, have laptop / will travel.
From there, we can make advanced dates to meet again... simple.
Sounds good to me. Count me
Sounds good to me. Count me down as another interested party for a meet up. I'm pretty flexible on times etc.
Cheers.
Lets start off with Sat 28/05 first meeting
Hey, well, lets take the initiative to start off with Saturday 28 May 11am Bongiorno At Norwood on the Parade. We can start off with some introductions and go from there. I am happy to chat about nearly anything, I could give an easy to understand talk on how Google works, how clients can expand their nets to get more traffic, and rank better on the web? We can talk about the changes of Google with the new alogrithm of the release of Panda, and how that effects your clients? We could talk about different modules that we use...
But more important, if we just get started, then have a first meeting, then we can discuss what topics we could present to the next meetings. If we take notes, then make an update on groups Adelaide on what was discussed, and what is coming up, this will create an interest for others to join and learn, or even offer up a topic to teach others with a brief overview.
Please put your email addresses down for those that would like to make this, then we can keep in contact.
Count me in
I can make that.
mike@fenetik.net
I could possibly give some insight into a weighty web application I am developing in Drupal or perhaps Ubercart tips and tricks or just some case studies at the very least.
I would definitely be interested in some Google insights.
Cheers.
Count me in too

Thanks to all who attended! We ended up with a fairly diverse group of 5. They were all new faces for me too, so that was encouraging.
The timeslot worked well for me, but I can see how it would be harder for some to make it on a weekend. Any thoughts?
Was nice meeting you guys :)
Was nice meeting you guys :) Most times are fine for me, as long as they are outside 9-5 on weekdays, so usually, pretty much anything on weekends is good :)
