Miami Drupal Group reborn. Two meetings set.

I'm starting (okay, restarting) the Miami Drupal Group. We had an organizing meeting last week in Sunny Isles and our next two meetings are now set for downtown Miami at Knight Foundation offices for Feb. 24th and March 24th.

At our Feb. 24th meeting we'll review Drupalcamp and Wordcamp, plan for FOWA Miami and hopefu...lly talk about municipal wireless projects.

At the March 24th meeting we'll look at the winning projects of the Knight Drupal Initiative.

Find us in Drupal Groups and join (free of course) at [http://groups.drupal.org/node/2175].

Knight News Challenge proposal : Need feedback from drupal ninjas!

Hello all Drupal Dojo users! I thought it would be a good idea to have some Drupal ninjas read and comment my proposal to the Knight Foundation for faveeo.com as the deadline is coming quickly for the news challenge and we hope to get the best proposal as possible!

If you are interested in the topics of information management, social agregation, information overload and community-based news networks, please have a look!

The idea is simply to get some ideas going and get some constructive critizism from the Drupal Dojo about this quite complex project!

Brief History of the OMP: Year 1

As we near the completion of year-1 of the Open Media Project, I thought it might be useful to provide a brief history so-far. Part of my agreement in winning the Knight News Challenge grant that made the Open Media Project possible was to post frequent updates to the PBS Idealab Blog. Looking back, those entries provide a good timeline of year-1, and a look forward at year 2.

You can see all 10 entries at http://www.pbs.org/idealab/tony_shawcross_1/
