Ok - no posts in this group?! I'll start, my notes are old because I started investigating the topic over a year ago - got as far a few test builds on an Ubuntu dev server and managed to get LDAP integration working, so it CAN be done. Now starting my research and studying over, there's some exciting new stuff out there - probably most notably Open Atrium.

RHRealityCheck.org, an award-winning and growing online publication and community for progressive reproductive health and rights news and commentary, is seeking an experienced free lance Drupal developer to assist with two big development projects for 25-30 hours a week over the next nine months. Our small team telecommutes and is based all over the country. I, Brady Swenson, the project's New Media Director, am based in Lawrence, KS and so am seeking someone in the Lawrence / Kansas City area so that we may work together in person from time to time.

Freelance Drupal and graphics support needed for potential contract with a municipal government in Alberta.
Duties are likely to involved custom themes, work with user and content management, an In/Out system, visual redesign of site. There is a possibility of on-going freelance work into 2012. Please note that I am assembling a team to respond to an RFP, and I have an established line of communication to the potential client. If we have a strong team, we have a very good chance of getting it.

I began working on a side project a month or so ago to create a system with Drupal that will allow organizers to collaboratively manage volunteers, events and field operations. I have been surprised by the demand for a system like this and I would like to take this past idea stage and formalize a fork of Drupal for campaigns/organizations.

The general functionality I am looking to build in (some of which is completed) is:
1) Calendar
2) Management of campaign requests
2) Task management
3) Volunteer database

We are looking forward to redesign our Intranet and migrate it to Drupal. (There are nearly 10,000 documents already in the existing Intranet database ). We already have a usability expert who will do the visual design and click through mock up model of the new Intranet site which then has to be built with Drupal. We need someone who has thorough understanding of drupal to adapt it to our requirements. The person should have experience in groups, workflows, permissions etc as it is an Intranet meant for community building and collaboration.
